Education at the University for Applied Science for Austrian Rechtspfleger
From 29 September to 1 October 2010 the congress for Rechtspfleger and Senior Judicial Officers was held by the Trade Union for Public Services, Federal Representation of Justice, at Velden/Wörthersee. The President of the European Union of Rechtspfleger (E.U.R.) Thomas Kappl overhanded the Green Paper for a European Rechtspfleger to the Austrian Federal Minister for Justice, Dr. Claudia Bandion-Ortner. In his speech Thomas Kappl made an appeal to the Minister of Justice to introduce the education at the university for applied science for the Austrian Rechtspfleger. This is an important step for high-quality and efficient judicial system in Austria. The profession of Rechtspfleger would be upgraded. The Rechtspfleger is carrying out more than 85 percent of all court cases at the district courts. Thus the Rechtspfleger is an essential pillar of the Austrian judicial system in cases of non-contentious matters and in enforcement cases.
Kappl thanked the chairman of the Federal Representation of Justice Gerhard Scheucher for the very good cooperation with the European Union of Rechtspfleger.
In workshops the congress was dealing with the Land Registry and the Companies Register. Both systems are likely to stand as a model for a European land register and a European commercial register in Europe.
