The Green Paper of the E.U.R. in Finland

Thomas Kappl, President of the E.U.R. + Tuija Brax, Minister of Justice of FinlandAfter the green paper for a European Rechtspfleger was handed over to the European Commission on 2 December 2008 in Brussels, the Finnish Minister of Justice, Mrs. Tuija Brax, received the green paper on 8 December 2008 in Helsinki. At this important meeting the vice-president of the E.U.R. for Finland, Matti Kojonen, as well as the member of the board of the Finnish association Seitola Jaakko has taken part.

During the very friendly meeting the Finnish Minister of Justice and the President of the E.U.R. were discussing in the green paper embodied proposals of the harmonization as well as the career profile of the European Rechtspfleger and the uniform legal training aspired in Europe. The minister explained that the green paper shall be very useful for a working group, which is installed by the Finnish Ministry of Justice and concerned with the development of the Finnish career profile of the Rechtspfleger.

Matti Kojonen, Thomas Kappl, Seitola JaakkoIn 2002 the law has changed and the competences of the Finnish Rechtspfleger were limited. Due to an initiative of the Finnish association the Ministry of Justice installed a working group, which will concern itself with the transmission of tasks of the justice to the Finnish Rechtspfleger. Kappl asked the Finnish Minister of Justice to integrate the Finnish association into the work. The green paper for a European Rechtspfleger should be the basis for the considerations for the development of the Finnish career profile.
